Can my child fail on the day of grading?
If your child is unsuccessful in performing the syllabus on the day they will receive a "Not Yet Competent" for that section.
What happens after that?
They will have one more attempt on the day with an instructor in the training area. As we know being nervous will sometimes affect their performance on the grading day mats.
If they still are not competent?
We will have a chat to the Taekwondo instructor and work out a solution for when they are at the centre. When we work out a plan going forward, we will ensure to communicate this to the parent and child.
What about their belt and certificate?
Unfortunately, until they pass ALL of the requirements we won't be able to give the next belt and certificate. We believe that through our adversities we should focus our energy on overcoming them with more focus and determination.
All Taekwondo students have the ability and potential to be a black belt, we all have our own struggles and challenges. There are many ways to overcome them. The importance is overcoming challenges and obstacles regardless.
