The Inspire team consisting of Danny, Shannon, Samuel and Jacinta headed out for the Cabramatta Moon Festival. The Moon Festival is a time to enjoy the successful reaping of rice and wheat, with food offerings made in honour of the moon.
On the day, we handed out free cold water bottles to help deal with the heat. The team set-up a stall to hand out free work booklets consisting of fun science experiments children could do at home and fun ways to engage with numeracy and literacy. All of our booklets were designed by our Educational leader Shannon.
When asked what we do? We explained that we are a premium After School Care service picking up from the local schools. Danny and Jacinta were able to help with any language barriers by communicating in Vietnamese and Khmer.
Throughout the day the team had the opportunity to visit other neighbouring stalls and tasted all of the delicious cuisines they had to offer such as Moon Cakes, dim sum, BBQ skewers and more. There were a number of cultural performances that the team got to enjoy such as the Lion dancing.
It was such a great opportunity to be connected with the Liverpool community on one of their biggest cultural events.
